Website promotion tools that really work
People always ask me “what are the best website promotion tools.” That’s kind of like asking “what is the best car to buy.” Everyone has a different opinion and different criteria of what makes a good car based on their personal needs. Marketing tools are no different.
It really depends on what you are trying to accomplish. I have created a list of the top 10(or so) tools that I use regularly. I hope that this list is of help to you.

I have been happily using WordTracker for quite a while and recently started using Keyword Discovery. Both are outstanding tools although Keyword Discovery seems to be a bit more powerful and accurate. I haven’t used it as long as WordTracker so I am going to recommend you try them both (both have free trials)and decide for yourself.

Top Website Builders
For my core design work of 5 pages or less I like to use Dreamweaver but for larger sites I prefer X-Site Pro. If you are used to using Dreamweaver, you might feel limited by X-Site Pro because it doesn’t have as many design tools. However, the time that it saves by automatically updating changes to multiple pages at the same time more than makes up for the limitations. The built-in SEO features are great but I would recommend double checking them with a tool like WebPosition.

Top Website Audio Tool
If you have ever wanted to add audio to your site there are two main tools I use, Audio Generator and Audio Acrobat. Both can be used by the total newbie and both have many great features like an audio greeting that automatically loads when someone visits your home page. You get a little more for my money with Audio Acrobat so I am going to have to recommend it as my favorite.

Top Blog Creation Tool
My two favorite blog creation tools are WordPress and Blogger. Blogger was purchased by Google and call me crazy but it seems like Google indexes my Blogger blogs faster than the ones I have created using WordPress. For that reason I am going to have to recommend Blogger as my favorite.

Top Website Statistics/Analytics
Google turned the Web Analytics world upside down when they released their Google Analytics program free of charge. Google Analytics provides the same detailed statistics as programs that cost hundreds of dollars per month.
If you are extremely paranoid about Google having access to your data then maybe you should find something else but for most people, Google Analytics will be more than enough.
